This is an outdoor view of the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, CA. This camera is located on the roof of my apartment on 17th street, just southeast of the Newport Pier. The camera faces southwest towards Newport pier. The surf break next to the pier is called 'Secrets', but it isn't a secret and the break to the left of the pictures is called 'The Point',but it isn't a point. Go figure.

This is another view from the roof, this camera faces due south or straight out in relation to the other roof views. This surf break has no official name but we lovingly refer to it as "Out Front", a name steeped in tradition. The 17th street break picks up mostly south swells but also breaks on a steep west swell, the Newport "point" is to the right. This camera, called the NetCam, is the newest addition to the panorama and the newest offering from WinCam.

This is yet another view from the roof. This camera faces southeast towards Dana Point. For experienced visitors to the site, this camera was the old Beach Blend Cam operated by my pal mcBlend. The Newport jetty is (sometimes) visible on the left side of the picture. The lifeguard tower is at 15th street and the surf break in the distance is called "School Yards". This stretch of beach picks up any swell coming from the south, usually in the form of long thumping walls waiting to dump you in the sand.

This camera, also on Balboa, is located further down the peninsula. The major street is West Balboa and the cross street is 11th. The camera is mounted on top of the world's largest partying houseboat and faces the Pacific ocean to the south - I get a lot of emails but, yes, it faces nearly due south. The houseboat is docked next to my old beach shack on 11th street, which was bulldozed and is now a house I could never afford.
